Hello everyone!

So this week it’s something different. Instead of a story I thought I’d try and break the fourth wall today and talk to you guys directly. I know that doesn’t make any sense here whatsoever, like it does in stage productions and the way they do it on House of Cards, but what can I say? I’m a rebel.

The truth is, I was having a little trouble getting those creative juices flowing this week and I didn’t want to not put up a post. And all I’ve been doing is posting fiction without really talking to you guys. I mean really sitting and talking to you. So I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone and make this a personal one. I hope you’ll forgive the lack of fiction and welcome this little change. I promise a story soon. And I’d understand if you didn’t feel up to reading this one. Totally okay.

So the question I wanted to answer in this post was the one I imagined you thinking: “Excuse me mysterious strange, who is also probably very attractive, but why don’t you tell us a bit about yourself?” So I racked my brains until I suddenly remembered this tag everyone seems to be doing: 25 simple and fun questions. So why not? But, when I googled them I learned there’s no set compilation of 25 questions because different bloggers were answering entirely different question sets. So, me being the eternal rebel, I went ahead and cherry-picked 25 random ones from all those out there and made a brand new blend. I hope you enjoy it.

Should we dilly-dally? I think not. Hence begins the 25 Questions Tag:

———-

Q.1: Do you have any pets?

A: Yes, around 30+ cats and kittens. I kid you not.

Q.2: Name three things that are physically close to you.

A: My phone, my laptop, and the bed.

Q.3: What’s the weather like right now?

A: Because that whole Equinox-Solstice meteorological mumbo-jumbo dynamic is changing up, the weather had been unpredictable in Mumbai. Sometimes cool, sometimes warm. Summer is coming.

Q.4: Do you drive? If so, have you crashed?

A: Yes, and no. (Thank goodness.)

Q.5: What time did you wake up this morning?

A: Around 5, since it’s a weekday.

Q.6: When was the last time you showered?

A: Two months back. Hahaha. No. You know I’m just kidding. It was actually three months back.

Q.7: Do you participate in any sports?

A:  No, but my day starts with a run and I’m also crazy good with a jump rope if that counts.

Q.8: What does your last text message say?

A: “Not if I probe you first.”

Q.9: What is your ringtone?

A: The song called Genesis by Justice.

Q.10: Have you ever been out of your country/traveled by plane?

A: Yup.

Q.11: Do you like sushi?

A: Do babies cry?

Q.12: Do you have a desktop or a laptop?

A: I love the sheer convenience of the laptop.

Q.13: How old will you be turning on your next birthday?

A: 27, but 80 feels more accurate.

Q.14: Do you have glasses/wear contacts?

A: Yes, I switch between the two.

Q.15: What is your favourite pizza topping?

A: Jalapenos.

Q.16: Flight or Invisibility?

A: Telekinesis. (Rebel, remember?)

Q.17: Which is your favourite book of all time?

A: Jerome David Salinger’s The Catcher In The Rye. Some phonies misunderstand this book. And those occasional phonies whom I encounter say to me, “But that book’s so dark and morbid!” to which I respond by putting a bullet between their eyes and saying, “Sleep tight, ya morons!”

Q.18: Are you married?

A: Nope.

Q.19: What is your favourite drink?

A: Cranberry juice.

Q.20: What was your favourite subject in school?

A: English literature. Sort of explains why this blog exists.

Q.21: What’s your favourite movie?

A: I didn’t have one until a few years ago. Boyhood (2014).

Q.22: How do I bring you down to your knees?

A: Apple pie.

Q.23: What is your favourite colour?

A: Blue.

Q.24: Have you graduated from high school?

A: Yes, and college.

Q.25: What is the last thing you bought?

A: Ermm… it’s a certain personal item. Private. Would be considered indecent if I were to mention it. *wink wink*

So there you have it! My age, my favourite colour, and everything you need to hack through my passwords. Makes you wonder who originally came up with this tag and what their intentions were.

On a more serious note, this was fun. Do you want to see more of these in the future? I’ve been seeing a lot of book-related tags and they seem like they could be really interesting. But I’m definitely going to be doing more fiction. I know I’ve been sticking to a particular style of stories but hopefully there will be more variety soon. But I’d really like to hear what you guys think. Please sound off in the comments. What do you want to read? Not want to read? What do you prefer? Let me know. I’m all ears.

So, before I end this post, one last thing. Like I said I’ve only been here for six weeks, but in just that short amount of time all you lovely people have had such amazing and kinds to say, and so I feel the need to say thank you. Thank you for checking out these random stories I come up with and taking the time to like and comment on them. Thank you for all the love and support. You guys are amazing and your blogs are amazing and this blogging community just rocks in general. I have to admit every time I get one of these WordPress notifications I feel like a dog with his head outside the window of a moving car. Thrilled beyond anything. So really, thank you.

I’ll stop before this turns into a Nobel Prize acceptance speech. (But seriously, thank you.) Hopefully I can recharge that creative battery and have a good story out for you guys soon.

This is me, signing out!
